Chicago Fire FC, the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, recently announced a significant multiyear partnership with SeatGeek, designating the technology platform as its Official Ticketing Partner and a Founding Partner for the club's highly anticipated new downtown soccer stadium, set to open in 2028. This strategic alliance aims to transform the live event experience for fans, teams, and venues alike.

This partnership positions SeatGeek at the forefront of one of the most exciting venue openings in MLS history. SeatGeek will extend beyond a mere ticketing provider, serving as a strategic partner to drive ticketing operations across all Chicago Fire FC matches, as well as a diverse array of concerts, entertainment events, and third-party bookings at the state-of-the-art new stadium.

The Chicago Fire Football Club recently broke ground on its privately-funded, 22,000-capacity soccer-specific stadium located in Chicago’s vibrant South Loop neighborhood. This transformational new home, scheduled for completion in 2028, is poised to become one of the most gripping and captivating entertainment venues in the United States, offering a world-class experience.

Currently, Chicago Fire FC, an American professional soccer club competing in Major League Soccer as a member of the Eastern Conference, plays its home matches at the 62,500-seat Soldier Field. This multipurpose stadium, opened in 1924 on the Near South Side of Chicago, Illinois, will eventually see the club transition to its dedicated new facility.

New York-based SeatGeek, founded in 2009, emerged from a vision to leverage modern technology to enhance the live event experience for everyone involved – fans, teams, and artists. Today, SeatGeek provides a trusted marketplace for fans to effortlessly buy and sell tickets, alongside offering primary box office technology to prominent sports and entertainment entities globally.

Dave Baldwin, President of Business Operations for Chicago Fire FC, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. He stated, “We have ambitious goals to deliver a variety of entertainment programming that’s unrivaled in Chicago and spans soccer matches, major concerts and world-class events. We’re excited to partner with SeatGeek to create one of the most holistic partnership platforms across North American sports and entertainment.”

Situated along the Chicago River at The 78, the Fire’s new stadium is designed to be a central feature of a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood. It is expected to act as a catalyst for continued economic development and generate significant job opportunities within the South Loop. Its riverfront location will seamlessly integrate public plazas, activated outdoor spaces, and connectivity to surrounding retail and residential developments, establishing the stadium as a premier matchday destination and community hub.
