The Chicago Fire Football Club's new soccer stadium, McDonald's Park, is under construction at The 78 in the South Loop. The first of two tower cranes for the project has been erected, with the West Crane coming online on April 21. The East Crane is still pending, but permits for both cranes were issued on April 14. The West Crane is a Peiner SK-415 model, the same type used for the new McDonald's corporate office in the West Loop. The East Crane will be a yellow Liebherr 316 EC-H12 model. Pile driving appears to be finished, with no rigs still on site for driving steel into the soil. However, a pending permit for revisions to the pile permit includes additional piles, pile-type changes, and lowering of pile caps. The Fire announced a partnership with McDonald's for the naming rights to the 22,000-seat, $750 million soccer stadium and entertainment venue on May 13. The stadium is expected to open in 2028. We will update you in the next couple of days on non-crane activity on the site.
